This was a truly shocking book, and I‘m embarrassed at my naivety at the situation for women in Saudi Arabia. Sure, I knew that they were considered second class citizens, had to cover up, weren‘t allowed to go out unaccompanied etc etc but I had no idea it was this bad.

You may recall Rahaf‘s story from early 2019 when she was detained in Bangkok when trying to flee SA and her plight made headlines around the world.

This book made me angry,⬇️

squirrelbrain …and it made me cry. I‘ve just had to look up how Rahaf is doing now as I really became immersed in her story and wished for a happy ending for her. 2y

I don't know what to say. I didn't expect this. People live in real-life handmaid's tale. It's hard to overstate how shocking and sad this is.
