pickThis WH40K novel was much more interesting the last one I reviewed(Black Reach). The characters had a lot more depth and the story(an inquisitor uncovering a conspiracy)was much more interesting. The author did a great job creating/describing several different sci-fi locations.
Bookish Song Nr. 9: All I Do Is Win
This started out as some joke in my head. I put it aside. It came back. I put it aside. It came back. Now I just can't stop listening to this song, without imagining how Eisenhorn, being almost indestructible, fights his way through demons and monsters. Just dance to the refrain together with the ships captain, who sure is all into money and shiny things.
Argh! It's stuck!

Abnett has written many, many books for the Warhammer universe, that's why I might have expected to much of this book.
The whole thing is story driven. The characters barely exist to fulfill the story. But I need well developed characters in a book. Those I couldn't find here. They were all just words on paper...
I hope the other books by Abnett will be better.
