Mindful Mr. Sloth
Mindful Mr. Sloth | Katy Hudson
2 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
Sasha has one speed--fast. She loves to do lots of things, all at once, as fast as possible. Mr. Sloth has one speed--slow. He loves to do things one at a time, at a nice, easy pace. Can Mr. Sloth's mindful ways teach Sasha to slow down and enjoy life? Best-selling author Katy Hudson gently weaves a mindfulness theme into this unlikely friendship tale between an energetic girl and a sloth, encouraging children to stop, breathe, and be present in every moment.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐5 ⭐.
I hope this book helps usher in more books about Sloths. Sasha is a girl who loves to go fast. She does all things fast. It will take her new friend Mr. Sloth to show her how to slow down and the amazing things that can be found when you stop to smell the flowers or entice the butterflies. Another great book by Katy Hudson, which has BIPOC illustrations.

I think kids will like this book, but I have an issue with it: it doesn‘t show that mindfulness takes work. Sasha, always impatient, always doing many things at once, find the sloth at the top of her treehouse and decides to befriend it. While Sasha did everything too fast, Mr. Sloth, predictably had one speed: slow. During the course of a neighborhood race, Mr. Sloth literally shows Sasha how to stop and smell the roses. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
