Pickpick

This was an emotive read that will appeal to fans of David Nicholls and Matt Haig.

James sends one final text to his 158 contacts before travelling to Edinburgh to end his life. What ensues is the story of how he came to this point of despair and the ripples created as his loved ones receive the news.

Overall it was a touching read, but the ending could have been executed better and some of the characters felt a bit stereotypical.

Mehso-so

It was okay, it was funny in some places but I found the ending really tough and kind of disappointing.
James decides he's had enough and sends a message to all his contacts explaining he's going to commit suicide. What follows is a mash up of flash backs explaining James' back story and a lesson in the power of the internet as friends, relatives and strangers hunt to find James and stop him.

I loved it. Funny, sad and thought provoking. Left slightly wanting more.

Despite the very serious premise of the book it has made me chuckle out loud more than once 😂

This is the book I was waiting for. I love all of Mark Watson's novels. I once won tickets to a show of his, drove 140 miles round trip to see him, got a parking ticket. He owes me 50 quid!
