Today‘s Prompt: HOODWINKED

A true story of a brave woman who rescued enslaved Chinese girls from their owners by taking them into The Occidental Mission Home for Girls in San Francisco.

The men who “tricked/hoodwinked” them into thinking they were going to arrive in America and marry a wealthy man so they could take care of their family back home were despicable.

4/5🌟
This is the inspiring story of Donaldina Cameron, the director of a mission to for Chinese girls rescued slavery in Chinatown in San Francisco in the early 1900s. I‘m grateful for the delicate and sensitive way the author handled the subject. I don‘t need every graphic detail to feel deep compassion for the victims. Inspiring and hopeful! #LDSLivingBookClub
