#bookspin
I've been a fan of Steve Inskeep on NPR and he's just as good as a writer. Just about every page of this in depth look at the fast growing city of Karachi, Pakistan has Inskeep speaking to one of its residents: politicians from rival parties, ambulance drivers, wealthy entrepreneurs, or poor residents of illegal properties. The story of the city emerges through these individual stories, which are all compelling in their own ways.

Billypar And a note about my first #bookspin selection: this languished on my shelf because I read non-fiction almost exclusively on audio. I'm a fiction fan first: I've just started enjoying nonfiction in the last few years since listening on audio while multitasking doesn't compete with the novel I'm reading. As much as I loved this, not being inside a novel was tough! I didn't expect the withdrawal, but it would have been a shame to miss this one. 4y

My #BookSpin pick this month is the only one on my shelf rescued from a dollar store. I recognized the author from NPR and thought it would be interesting to read one with a city as the subject (Karachi, Pakistan).
My #doublespin pick is going to be tougher, Malone Dies, the second of a Beckett trilogy. The first, Molloy, was very challenging- I liked parts but it definitely hurt my brain.

TheAromaofBooks Those both sound interesting in their own way! Good luck - can't wait to hear your thoughts!! 4y
