2 posts | 1 read
When Amanda found out her mother had sent in an application to ABCs The Bachelor on her behalf, she wasnt upset . . . but she was hesitant. As a divorced single mom on a long dating hiatus, she didnt think there was any way she could measure up against the competitors. In the back of her mind, her exs hurtful message reared its ugly head: You cant divorce me. Youll be 25 and divorced with two kids. No one will want you. The thought of starting over and putting herself out there was frightening. But despite the self-doubt, Amanda made it onto Season 20. What nobody knew at the time was that her on-camera date with Ben was her first in almost three years. Talk about pressure! Ever since she made it to the final four on The Bachelor and ended up engaged on Bachelor in Paradise, media outlets and millions of fans, eager to learn Amandas story, have tried to track her down. Whats he really like? Whats the scoop on her? Was she telling the truth about him? Part-memoir, part girls guide, Now Accepting Roses is full of never-before-told stories from behind the scenes of one of Americas most popular television showsbut this book isnt just for fans of The Bachelor. Mehso-so

Welp, it is what it is ??‍♀️
I wasn't expecting literary gold or anything moving from this collection of "lessons" from a former contestant on The Bachelor. I read it because I thought Amanda seemed genuine on the show and I follow her on Instagram (she has two little girls who are around the same age and my boys). Could have had more substance, but as I mentioned my expectations were low so I'm not disappointed.

A little light reading...🤷🏼‍♀️ #bachelornation

Scochrane26 The Bachelor is doing a live show in my area this year, so we got my mom a ticket for Christmas. She‘s very excited. My sister agreed to go with her because I will be too sarcastic/cynical. 4y
Chelsea.Poole @Scochrane26 sounds like a great gift for her! I used to be this way (sarcastic)about the show, and then accidentally got sucked into a season about 4 years ago. I realized it doesn't have to be something that I'm embarrassed about watching, but I do still check myself with my feminist thoughts. 🤓 4y
Scochrane26 @Chelsea.Poole I used to watch it & got sucked into a few seasons. 4y
