Jack's Path of Courage (a Big Words Biography): The Life of John F. Kennedy
Jack's Path of Courage (a Big Words Biography): The Life of John F. Kennedy | Doreen Rappaport
30 posts | 11 read
John F. Kennedy was a popular, charismatic president, beloved by many. But he didn't always believe he had the strength or courage for that office. As a child he was sickly, and overshadowed by his strong, capable, athletic older brother Joe. After Joe Jr.'s death, John had to work hard to live up to his own expectations and to those of his father. He overcame pain and self-doubt to see the country through one of the most difficult crises in its history. Doreen Rappaport once again combines real-life quotes with her own lyrical prose to create a moving portrait of a beloved figure. Matt Tavares's stunning artwork vividly depicts this unique time in history. I would definitely use this in my classroom of older elementary kids. I would especially use this when teaching my kids about past presidents and how they affected the United States. I would also read this when talking about this decade in US history.

This is a biography book about the life of JFK. The authors writes about how at a young age he loved to read and play sports. Jack wrote his own book that became published, and he even was in the military and how during that time we went through a lot. He was a war pilot in the military. Later in his life, he ran for congress and then eventually president of the USA. This book includes true facts about his personal life/presidential life.

Jack Kennedy is known as one of our most vital American President. But this image did not come easily. He worked hard to be recognized for his own talents and eventually came into the public eye as a writer, senator, and president.
