Not my favorite graphic novel, much as I love Gambit. The story telling was very choppy.

Pro tip: you can always plausibly blame it on the Shadow King or the Skrulls (or Mystique, or Professor X being The Worst, or a Skrull pretending to be Professor X being The Worst).
