Not Taco Bell Material | Adam Carolla
3 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
In his second book, Adam Carollaauthor of New York Times bestseller In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks and chart-topping podcasterreveals all the stories behind how he came to be the angry middle-aged man he is today. Funnyman Adam Carolla is known for two things: hilarious rants about things that drive him crazy and personal stories about everything from his hardscrabble childhood to his slacker friends to the hypocrisy of Hollywood. He tackled rants in his first book, and now he tells his best stories and debuts some never-before-heard tales as well. Organized by the myriad "dumps" Carolla called homethrough the flophouse apartments he rented in his twenties, up to the homes he personally renovated after achieving success in Hollywoodthe anecdotes here follow Adam's journey and the hilarious pitfalls along the way. Adam Carolla started broke and blue collar and has now been on the Hollywood scene for over fifteen years, yet he never lost his underdog demeanor. He's still connected to the working class guy he once was, and delivers a raw and edgy, fish-out-of-water take on the world he lives in (but mostly disagrees with), telling all the stories, no matter who he offendsfamily, friends or the famous.

Random moment of guiltily pleasure and joy. I got a Mexican pizza!! Yes I know — I know but I couldn‘t resist. Mexican pizzas got me thru a lot of break ups, late night dancing, stress eating, and pregnancy. Shout out to bringing it back and needing heartburn meds lol #nostalgia #tacobell #badfood #memories

Pickpick

A local library in my new area had a "book grab" where the books were free. I grabbed this one thinking I couldn't go wrong for free and I was right.

Adam Carolla is crass, foul mouthed and anything but politically correct and, surprisingly, I found that refreshing. His stories were funny and entertaining. He said what he meant and meant what he said

While this was not a typical read for me, I give it a thumbs up.
