Such a beautifully told story. I love all the smaller stories within. #childrensbook

Some of the best reads of October. I think I finished 12 books but I must go check! I added this blurb under The Butterfly Lion because I felt that out of all I'd read this month this was the book that gave me the most joy. 🍂🍃🍁

Mimi28 I have Harry August on overdrive right now! 👍📚 8y

This book is ideal for "middle year" children with an engaging, tender story and beautiful illustrations.

I am a fan of Michael Morpurgo's work. He is best known for War Horse. His stories can seem quite simple, but they convey a depth of emotion and usually have an educational element by being set in various places in the world and eras in history.

This was a perfect Saturday afternoon read. ?

Aseleener My daughter would love this. I think I read this author before: Kensuke's Kingdom, maybe? 8y
Libby1 Yes! He did write Kensuke's Kingdom and many others. He was UK Children's Laureate for awhile and I've enjoyed many of his books. 8y
Libby1 Oops! I forgot to tag you so you'd see my comment, @Aseleener ! 8y
