Pickpick

I read sections of this in college with my favorite professor and have been wanting to reread it for years. I got more out of it this time while feeling like I understood less! Because I‘m older and wiser (?) but also not in an academic mindset anymore.

This is a set of essays reflecting on his observations near the end of life, including his career in archaeology/anthropology, but very philosophical. Very good. Recommended.

ravenlee Interesting coincidence, too - the kiddo and I have been reading books by Leonard Everett Fisher about gods and goddesses of various cultures (Norse and Maya so far), and he just happens to have done these illustrations. 5y

We who have recourse only to a past which we misread and which has made us cynics would now venture to produce our own future.
