#LovePrevails Day 12: #LincolnBday - It was lovely knowing more about Lincoln through this PBB – his humble beginnings, the fact that he towered over practically all of his classmates while he was growing up, and his unapologetic love for books, notwithstanding its apparent unpopularity among people who failed to understand his literary predilections. Eggs Such a great book for younger readers👏🏻📚❤️👏🏻 3y

This adorable and very kid-friendly B, written by Kay Winters and illustrated by Nancy Carpenter, describes the life of Abraham Lincoln and is a great choice to pull out around President‘s Day in lower elementary grades. This story focuses on the early years and his determination to learn, and the way he overcame adversity to become to man he was later in life. This book would be a great addition to any library! #LAE3414sp19

melindamcmullen84 https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/abe-lincoln-bo... This book seems to be great for think-pair-share and mapping in small groups. UDL 3.2 & 6.2 support these activities through planning and strategy development and focusing on main ideas and features. ESOL 2 & 4 to support group discussions but also linking prior knowledge of Abe to this book. 5y
