My cynical self called it correctly: our area was not hit with crises level snow storms.

But! I did catch up on all the short stories and novels for The Expanse series this weekend. 😁

BarbaraTheBibliophage And we got the opposite. It wasn‘t supposed to snow as much as it has. But not a crisis yet. I‘m most concerned about the ice they‘re predicting for tomorrow morning. 5y

SconsinBookyBadger I‘m so jealous of this scenery. Ugh snow (and more on the way) layered over ice. Simply walking the parking lot turns a person into an Olympic ice skater. ⛸ ⛸🥉 5y

We are at 9 so far with a looooong way to go 🤷🏽‍♀️😳🙄

Meetings all day regarding political and social justice ...my head hurts

OrangeMooseReads We are at 17 or 18 as of today. We get 6 and applied for another 3 “act of god” days (which we will most likely get after the state of emergency). We‘ve had 1 day of school so far in the last week and a half. 5y

TheBookHippie @OrangeMooseReads I‘m not sure I think last semester was 2 ?—so we‘re at 11 total ??and 3 late starts but woe 17-18 🤯 we went late today -ice! 5y

OrangeMooseReads @TheBookHippie we had a day at the start of the year when the power was knocked out by a storm and then we had 2 days the kids couldn‘t be at school because of a boil water advisory. They have decided via parent survey results to make 2 scheduled no school days school days now. So with that and if they are approved for the other 3 the kids still have 8 days to make up. 5y

janeycanuck @TheBookHippie I think our school boards pad their schedules. My mom works at a board and I‘m pretty sure she said they could go ten days before the year is in jeopardy. They typically just take back PD days if they have too many snow days. (edited) 5y
