The Uncanny Valley
The Uncanny Valley: Tales from a Lost Town | Gregory Miller, John Randall York
7 posts | 5 read | 11 to read
The Uncanny Valleyis a macabre serenade to a small town that may or may not exist, peopled with alive and dead denizens who wander about the hills and houses with creepy fluidity. Told by individual inhabitants, the stories recount tales of disappearing dead deer, enchanted gardens, invisible killer dogs, and rattlesnakes that fall from the sky; each contribution adds to a composite portrait that skitters between eerie, ghoulish, and poignant. Miller is a master storyteller, clearly delighting in his mischievous creations.Thirty-Three Tales. Thirty-Three Tellers. One Lost Town.

For a free Kindle book this was a surprise. 33 stories all from the town of Uncanny Valley. The stories reminded me of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and some of the better stories on r/creepypasta. Some were gruesome, some spooky, and some were surprisingly heartfelt or sad.

Stuck at home with a swollen and sore foot... at least I can get some reading done? Maybe I‘ll finish this one today.

If you want a creepy ass Halloween book, this is it. A radio station asks for stories of towns in Pennsylvania. What they got was not what they were looking for. The stories from Uncanny Valley are... different. It took me FOREVER to read because it kept creeping me out and I‘d have to put it down for a bit and come back later. Totally worth the read. Horror fans will enjoy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
