Tsumiko is named heiress to an ancestral estate and its accompanying fortune. Only the legacy comes with an aloof heirloom: an inhuman butler. Argent has served the family for centuries, and she must renew a generational bond or he'll die. He hates her for the hold she has over him, but he craves her soul almost as much as he craves his freedom.

This book was a fun and easy read. Good world building and fun story. Tsumiko inherited a grand estate that included an enslaved fox who has been abused for many generations. He doesn‘t believe her when she says that she will free him and she feels that she needs a purpose. 3/5 stars. Fun read, relaxing and a happy ending for all.

This is a weird, creative, rather wonderful book, a bit #romantsy. The heroine was more docile and retiring than I wanted her to be, but generally, the world-building was amazing and I really enjoyed the use of Japanese mythology. I definitely recommend! #fantasy

AutumnRLS Put this on my wish list! How could I not, with a cover like that? 6y
