Things Can Only Get Better: Eighteen Miserable Years in the Life of a Labour Supporter (Revised)
Things Can Only Get Better: Eighteen Miserable Years in the Life of a Labour Supporter (Revised) | John O'Farrell
2 posts | 1 read
A personal account of a Labour supporter's miserable eighteen years under a Tory government. A literary debut which combines wit with barbed insight from the author who has been a full time comedy writer since the voters of Battersea sacked him from his previous job as an MP's researcher for the House of Commons.

#7days7books day7 maybe not influential but i have enjoyed this challenge and looking at my bookshelves couldn't think of a suitable bk to end upon; irving, bronte, Vonnegut, bulgakov, Austen were all staring at me but in this time of uncertainty this title stood out! Things will definitely get better ☺
With thanks to @Blaire for the tag.

#anthem #GetMovin
The Blair years have been tarnished by the iraq decision but this book takes as it's title the anthem to the 1997 campaign which after 17 years of a conservative government gave hope to millions.
This book tells of the writers years as a labour campaigner in the 1980's and is very funny.
