'Thrilling, chilling and the suspense is killing' Val McDermid New York Times bestseller Julia Spencer-Fleming returns with the eighth novel in her much-loved series: THROUGH THE EVIL DAYS. Clare Fergusson and her new husband, Police Chief Russ van Alstyne, are awoken in the night by an urgent call: a farmhouse has erupted into flames, killing the couple sleeping inside. But the couple had not been alone - their eight-year-old foster child, Mikayla, has vanished. Still recovering from a life-saving operation, Mikayla will sicken and die if she doesn't receive medication, and now the police force of Millers Kill has just eight days to find her. As snow drives down, they face a near-impossible task. And Clare and Russ discover that the icy storm isn't the only threat being posed... Can anyone unpick the trail before it's too late?

Pickpick

Sad day, I‘m all caught up on this mystery series 😫 A couple big loose ends in ongoing plot lines, but the book came out on 2013 and there‘s no news on timing of the next book. I enjoyed my time with the residents of Millers Kill, NY this year and definitely hope there are more books to come in the future! (See comments for spoilers) #audiobook

raelaschoenherr I was SO invested in Kevin and Hadley‘s story. That ending killed me! I need a resolution for them 😢 6y

Ok i liked the story. Good pace, good build of suspense and tension. But then you get to the ending...and it shoots itself in the foot. Damnit Julia.

#aprilbookshowers I got the first of the Clare Fergusson/Russ VanAlstyne series in an author giveaway. I devoured it, then downloaded the other seven in the series to my Kindle and binge-read them. It ended with a real cliffhanger, and I'm waiting and waiting to find out what happens!! #sequelplease! It's been three or four years😮

Pamwurtzler Same here! I'm ready for another installment. 7y
