Bug in a Vacuum | Melanie Watt
2 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
A bug flies through an open door into a house, through a bathroom, across a kitchen and bedroom and into a living room.where its entire life changes with the switch of a button: it is sucked into the void of a vacuum bag! The bug moves through denial, bargaining, anger, despair and eventually acceptance - the five stages of grief - as it comes to terms with its fate. Will there be a light at the end of the tunnel? Will there be dust bunnies in the void? A funny, suspenseful and poignant look at the travails of a bug trapped in a vacuum.

#OctoberPutASpellOnYou Day 17: Bug In A #Vacuum deals with the stages of grief – that would most likely go over the heads of young readers but would most likely be appreciated by adults who would then provide the needed scaffolding for the younger reader. The word play is also something worth commenting about, as I feel that it is one of the book‘s strengths. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-bgW

Pickpick

4⭐️ A very surprising book. It is actually about the five stages of grief: denial, bargaining, anger, despair, and acceptance. We get to experience these stages with our friend fly who got sucked into the vacuum. All he wants is out. What makes this story truly great is the illustrations. Between the spray paint labeled denial, and the soap of bargaining, and the puppy who just wants his stuff. This book is treat for the eyes and the ears.
