Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Tasty Tale of Chew and Swallow | Rick Barba
2 posts | 1 read
This is the tale of Flint Lockwood, an eccentric young scientist, whose awkward demeanour and half-baked inventions (ratbirds, spray-on shoes, and talking monkeys) have made him an outsider in his hometown of ChewandSwallow. However, all that is about to change with his latest contraption, a miraculous food-making machine. His creation, at first, brings happiness to the town, but when things go awry, the forecast for the whole world quickly changes from sunny to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!

1. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 😁🍝 (fun movie, too!)

2. Pasta in all its forms. But especially a really good Carbonara.

3. Most shellfish.

4. All of them, but if I had to choose I'd go with Christmas Eve. Tourtiere with a simple salad, pomegranates, wine. Mmmm....

5. In my town: Marwan's Global Bistro or Foundry
In Toronto: Romagna Mia or Mexitaco (both closed since I moved 😣)
In my hometown: Coriander Green

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs by Rick Barba is a fun SF story for IR. The story is about an aspiring and lonely scientist named, Flint Lockwood, who created a food-making machine. He became the talk of the town, but one day his machine worked a little too well. Food started falling from the sky! He had to come up with a way to stop the machine before the giant foods destroyed the earth, but I wasn't easy while being attacked by flying pizza!

JanaLL This lesson extension would be wonderful to do with k-2 graders. It encourages them to use their imagination, just like Flint in the story! https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/cloudy-chance-... 6y
