I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel to The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The story starts 7 years following the events of the original story, with Gabriel Utterson (Jekyll‘s confidant and lawyer) set to take over Jekyll‘s fortunes. Then Jekyll returns forcing the characters and the readers to re-examine the events of the original tale. The author evoked with a mastery the feeling and the writing style of the original Victorian classic.

This ARC was good.

It's not a retelling of Stevenson's story, but a sequel from Mr Utterson's POV. Mr Utterson is Dr Jekyll's lawyer. Dr Jekyll died, as Mr Hyde, seven years ago and soon Dr Jekyll's lawyer will inherit his estate. Only a few days before the deed is due, there's smoke from Dr Jekyll's chimney, there's light, there's a butler, and there's Dr Jekyll?

Well written, just as Gothic and spooky as the original story.
