Living On Luck
Living On Luck | Charles Bukowski
1 post | 1 read
Living on Luck is a collection of letters from the 1960s mixed in with poems and drawings. The ever clever Charles Bukowski fills the pages with his rough exterior and juicy center.

youneverarrived Love this!! Bukowski is one of my favourite writers. I haven‘t heard of any of these though except the one at the bottom! Are they poetry books? Or short stories? 7y
Leftcoastzen @youneverarrived “Luck”and”Reach” are selected letters ,”Beerspit”letters to/from Sheri Martinelli. The rest ,poetry.John Martin, who founded Black Sparrow Press offered Bukowski $100.00 a month to quit work and write full time.”Post Office “was the result. He was Chucks early champion.Yet ,I was unaware of the Michael Phillips assertion that Martin changed the poems he edited after Bukowski‘s death. I need to dig a little deeper. 7y
youneverarrived Interesting thanks! 😺I‘m going to have to look these up now I didn‘t even know they existed! I remember that about him offering Bukowski a monthly pay to just write from a documentary I watched but I didn‘t know about him maybe changing his poems! Hope that‘s not true. 7y
