Steven Universe is a weird sci-fi cartoon about magical gem warriors from space and about how kindness and empathy can save the world. It also embraces the LGBTQ+ community and casually uses non-binary gender pronouns. I am a raving mega-fan.

Some big coffee table art books are better for perusing, but I read this volume that details the show‘s origins and the work that goes into crafting each episode from cover to cover.

lynneamch My granddaughters are obsessed with SU. I think the highlight of their trip to museums in DC was at the Natural History Museum where they took pictures of each of the gems that characters are named after. 5y
