Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend
Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend | Robert James Waller
4 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
The author of the phenomenal New York Times bestseller The Bridges of Madison County once again brings characters and situations with his special blend of lyricism and magic. This is a bittersweet story about two good people who discover that true love, when it comes, is rarely fair, or right--or without pain.

Mehso-so

I ... yeah. Someone should really write a critique of this book from the POV of the working professor. Every academic in this book has so much time! To cheat, to fix bikes, to cancel finals and run off to India! With that said, Waller had a craft down, and since this too came from a 5/$1 sale I stumbled on in my own travels, I can't complain overly (Or can I?).

Pickpick

It was no Bridges of Madison County! But it wasn‘t a bad little read.

It was the fist book to pop into my mind for #ReadingResolutions #ForeignCountry Day 12 prompt. What I remember most vividly about this book is thinking ‘Well, I don‘t ever have to visit India now.‘

What I expected to be a pan based on reviews that I read, turned out to be an absolute delight. As with Bridges, I feel like some readers didn't understand the tranquility of the story. It's not a bloated romance, it's a timeless story of two people and how they can't imagine not being with one another. I also loved the Robert Kincaid reference!
