I liked this slightly less than the first two instalments but I still liked it enough to be a pick. The number of characters is so high now and the plots are so intricate that I got confused sometimes and I don‘t have the same handle on what‘s happening as in the first two, but the art is still magnificent and I enjoyed it.

Time‘s up! Finished City of Ghosts and worked on four more books. Can‘t remember the last time I got to read for FOUR HOURS IN A ROW. Gosh I hate adulting - and #minithon18 was a lifesaver. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just don't know how this series could get any better. New issues are coming out starting in October so there will be even more awesomeness coming soon!

I suppose insomnia has its perks.

BookishFeminist This is a good perk. I loved Monstress & can't wait for more! 8y
Dorianna @BookishFeminist I actually fell asleep while reading. Figures the minute I'm okay with being awake and find something enjoyable to do I just pass out. 😂 By the way, we apparently getting a new Monstress issue in October. https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/monstress-7 8y

These volumes may be small, but they pack a serious punch. I was intending to read them between other books, but I cannot stop. Must. Know. More. Maika's quest has lots of suspense and tension! Creating character development within panels of art with spare writing is an art unto itself. In this case, Takeda's art vastly enhances Liu's abilities. Thanks to NetGalley & Diamond Book Distributors for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Blair_Reads I looked today but my library doesn't have these 😩😭 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Blair_Reads Oh no! I've been reading them from Netgalley and now may buy them. 8y
AmandaL Is the ARC for the comic or the trade version??? 8y

The Inquisatrix should not mess with Maika. She likes to eat people, and is way more powerful than even she knows. I am really liking the lectures from Professor Tam Tam at the end of the sections. It adds to your knowledge of the world in which the story resides.
