№1 I have tattoos. The most bookish is my ID pic and it's called “My next book“. Later this summer, I'm getting Dif-tor heh smusma, in Vulcan calligraphy on my right leg.
№2 See above.

Meaw_catlady Hey I‘m planning on getting that down my spine in the near future!! 🖖 the Vulcan one! 👏 (edited) 5y
tournevis @Meaw_catlady It's such a lovely calligraphy, on top of being important. 5y
Meaw_catlady @tournevis it is so lovely! I need to share a picture of the Vulcan meditation bowl I bought at the convention I was at last month. It‘s really beautiful but sadly he didn‘t write a translation anywhere so who knows what it says or if it‘s even accurate! It‘s still beautiful tho! 5y

tournevis @Meaw_catlady Tou can sound out the text with online syllabaries and then check in online dictionaries. I did that for something my husband wanted the other day. Do you have a link to the picture? 5y
Meaw_catlady That‘s the link you might need to copy and paste it somewhere. Hopefully it works (edited) 5y
tournevis @Meaw_catlady I can't see the link! 5y
tournevis @Meaw_catlady Paste it in again 5y
Meaw_catlady Because it has a hashtag in there the link won‘t share correctly 🙄 5y
tournevis @Meaw_catlady Got it. Let me get back to you. 5y
tournevis @Meaw_catlady So far as I can see, it's either one of two things. It could be an attempt at rendering a particular ancient version of Rata Tafar Tapan as seen in this link (http://korsaya.org/vulcan-calligraphy/) OR it's just faux Vulcan writing from this source (https://www.deviantart.com/trish2/art/Faux-Ancient-Vulcan-Script-42017021). It's not the best vanu-tanaf-kitaun (ceremonial calligraphy). It does not have a clear patam (head). 🙁 5y
Meaw_catlady Okay! Thanks for the links! Still think it‘s pretty! But I will make sure my tattoo artist does my tattoo correctly 🖖 5y
Meaw_catlady Awesome! Thank you I will save that image for when I need it ! It‘s so beautiful ! 5y

"The tattoo is so beautiful, so compelling, but I understand why Lydia wrote of a sense of revulsion". Enjoy the sense of mystery, connection, and loss in this intriguing short novel. Published today this would be a feast of sensory collage (given the move towards interactive novels and improved graphic publishing). It lacks the imaginative multimedia skills that produced books such as Fantastic Beasts and the Griffin & Sabine trilogy.

PeanutButterPie I think a feast of luscious collage would take away from the text rather than support it. Bantock‘s story telling is completely different and his rich illustrations become a part of the story. The imagery in here while more subtle complete the narrative rather than overwhelm it. 6y
