Outsiders sometimes see things other don't . . . and that can be dangerous. A pair of emerald green and gold parrots have been disturbing the peace of Katherine Tennison's London garden for some time when a further disruption arrives at her door, in the form of dazzlingly beautiful Italian siblings Antonella and Matteo Fullardi. Children of Katherine's old school friend Ann, who married an Italian leather-goods heir, the pair are now all grown up. Very rich, and very troubled, they prove a catalyst for a whole series of events which reveal the Tennisons' quiet family life to be less perfect than it initially seems . . ."

A green parrot sells for Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 locally, and can be purchased at weekly markets. According to officials, the birds fetch much more when smuggled to Europe. Wildlife expert Safwan Ahmad explained that Pakistan is home to four out of 376 species of parrot in the world.

My Pakistani friends missed their parrots very much. The mom would often paint them. #FOODANDLIT

This is my father in law and step-mother in law's African Grey. His name is Fawkes. I don't like birds. At all! I don't care how pretty they may be, or how much they talk (this one talks a lot)! I just don't like birds. AND THIS ONE KEEPS STARING AT ME!!!! 😫😩😞#notpetsoflitsy #nobirds #unlessitsaphoenix #thisisnotaphoenix

LauraBeth Tell him I said he's a pretty boy!😀 7y

TheNextBook @Gayan I hate birds. I just cant do it 7y
LauraBeth There was a famous African Grey named Alex who was studied for 30 years. One day he looked at a mirror and said "what color", and was told "grey". After being told six times, he learned his color was grey. This makes him the first and only non-human animal to have ever asked an existential question. ? I ❤️ birds ? 7y
rubyslippersreads @LauraBeth I loved the book about Alex! 7y
LauraBeth @rubyslippersreads there's a book?!? Yay - I didn't know! 7y
Mimi28 A gathering of crows is called a murder- creepy. Snakes and cats are much cooler, lol 7y
Nebklvr I understand! They always dive bomb me! 7y
SaraFair @LauraBeth - I agree, you would love the book on Alex. Makes me want a parrot, but what a commitment! 7y
LauraBeth @SaraFair I have three parakeets and they're a lot of work! Can't imagine a parrot - plus - my rule of thumb is I can't have a pet smarter than me and a parrot is definitely smarter than me 😀🐦 7y
SaraFair @LauraBeth - parakeets! Do they just play in their cage happily? That's what I want, but not until my terrier is gone as she would be a stalker. 7y
LauraBeth @SaraFair they do! They sing all day and goof off. We have to keep them up high because of the cats but we've had them for four years and we've only had one "incident" (and that was when they were at a lower height). They're fun - and just like a cat or a dog - they'll tell you when they're hungry ? 7y
BookishFeminist Seriously fuck birds!! I hate them too. My parents had an African Grey before I was born and all I hear are horror stories! 7y
