A Crown of Bitter Orange
A Crown of Bitter Orange | Laura Florand
9 posts | 6 read
Childhood friends Tristan Rosier might have asked Malorie Monsard to marry him when he was five years old, but things had only gone downhill from there. She’d spent the rest of their lives ignoring him, abandoning him, and destroying his perfumes. Now she was back, to wreak who knew what havoc on his life. Lifelong enemies Tristan might choose to dismiss the generations-long enmity between their two families, but Malorie didn’t have that privilege. Like all the other privileges wealthy, gorgeous Tristan took for granted that she couldn’t. But if she was going to restore her family company to glory, she might just need his help. Or the perfect match? They’d known each other all their lives. Could these childhood friends and lifelong enemies ever uncross their stars and find happily ever after?

This series has been fun. I‘ve read 3 of them in the last 9 months or so; they‘re nice and light to pick up between other things. #howjessreadsin2019

This book really worked for me. The Dark Moment when it came was resolved in such an organic and believable way to how the characters where written. Fantastic story about roots and belief

Chachic I love her while La vie en Roses series, this was a lovely installment.💖 7y

Lovely, romantic and deep, while at the same time making me desperately want to visit France.

Childhood crushes since they were five!
Prince Charming is truly a nice guy in real life (and he could be Sleeping Beauty as well!)
The Knight in Shining Armor is wearing pencil cut skirts and knows her numbers. The female lead is all about the bottom line, the male lead is all about the perfume. They clash but their attraction is about to boil over. There could be some family secrets. He could have some secrets. She could really be into him.

Chachic Looks like you've been glomming through her La vie en Roses series. So good! 💖 7y

#bookandlunch: pumpkin soup, crayfish salad and a serving of Laura Florand's writing. She has such a lovely way of making the Provence setting come alive.

Chachic @Lacythebookworm It was pretty good.👌 7y
Chachic @EloisaJames Reading her books is like taking a mini vacation to France.🌹💕 7y
Chachic @JDHawkins I enjoyed it! Will probably have it again some time.😋 7y
Chachic @brandymuses Aww thanks, Brandy! I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy reading this too. I can't believe we only have Lucien's book after this!! 7y
brandymuses I don't know though. Will we get an Antoine book too? He is CLEARLY a part of that family somehow. 7y
Chachic @brandymuses You're right! How could I have forgotten?! Antoine NEEDS to have his own book after the hints we've been given. 7y
brandymuses I will be rather sad if he doesn't get one at this point. 7y
Chachic @brandymuses I know, like those little tidbits about him are leading to something and it would be sad to get nothing. 7y

A new Laura Florand is always something to be happy about. She's one of my favorite romance authors. I've loved all of the other titles in her La vie en Roses series set in Grasse, featuring a family in the perfume business, so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this one too. I couldn't resist taking a pic of A Crown of Bitter Orange with this bottle of orange blossom EDT (I bought the cologne version).📖🌹

MeganB I'm SO excited for this book, this family is the best to read about 💕 7y
Chachic @MeganB Totally agree! The Rosiers are such an awesome family to read about, love the dynamics between the cousins. Just a few more weeks until this one is released.😊 7y
MeganB Their dynamics are so great, I love how even with the drama about inheriting and all that other stuff they don't let it get between them but there's still enough tension to make everything really emotional 7y
Chachic @MeganB Exactly! I thought it was pretty cool how they knew each other so well but at the same time, they still rub off each other the wrong way. It's hard to describe but it's just so well done. 7y
