Death
Death: An Oral History | Casey Jarman
4 posts | 3 read | 26 to read
Death is an inevitable reality that we must all face at some point. It can be difficult and perhaps painful to consider, but just as life can give great meaning to a persons death, so too can death help enhance a persons life. In this eye-opening collection of interviews, Jarman interviews cultural anthropologists, gravediggers, filmmakers, philosophers, ambulance drivers, and more for their stories, insights, and experiences.

I really enjoyed this book - it still has me thinking about all the different aspects of death portrayed in these interviews. From grief counselors and hospice workers to video game developers, death row wardens and people the have experienced the death of a loved one - there are so many theories and beliefs. #nonfiction

#LetterD in my #LitsyAtoZchallenge and I absolutely loved this book! It is interview style essays about people that deal with different areas of death: A grief counselor, an after death disposal (compost) specialist, and so much more! My favourite was the Death row warden. As well as everyday people that discuss how death has affected them. It was very easy to read one interview and go right to the next, or put down and pick up a week later. LOVED
