An excellent book. Modern Christianity very much forgets that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi who taught and spoke like his rabbinical counterparts of his time. If we but grasped that concept our faith practices and understanding would change significantly. Another well written and researched book. I didn't agree with all the positions taken, but they were largely minor disagreements. Read it and have your beliefs challenged.

BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks Ah...now you see my politics. I love DeSantis. I've never been a fan of the extreme measures imposed upon us. I have no issues with precaution but oppose the coercion and mandates. I think Florida is a bastion of freedom and the policies set forth and the results prove it so. 2y
Jenniebooks What about Stop woke act and his fight with Disney possibly raising taxes? Do you think he will be president? 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks I think Disney is out of line. When you come out and publicly state you will fight a legislature Chosen by the people, you invite a fight. DeSantis gave it to them. The dissolution of the district occurs in 2023. Plenty of time to keep it in place. Disney is stuck. DeSantis for president? Possible. I'd vote for him. 2y
Jenniebooks Do you think G-d cares about politics? Should America be a theocracy? 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks I think we have choices to make. There is nothing going on that surprises the Creator. We won't make America a bastion of Christianity like many Christian Nationalists think (many of whom are anti-Semitic to the core. How ironic) We have a responsibility to make wise decisions on our leaders. Theocracy happens in the millennium and beyond 2y
Jenniebooks Some Christians are the problem. They don‘t accept that the country is diverse. They want country for free white men. Everyone else is excluded from the promise and potential of America 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks I can't disagree. Those people exist and I have an issue with them. 2y
Jenniebooks Have to stay away from holier than thou hypocrites. They do the worst damage. Do you celebrate Christmas and Easter? Excuse me for my ignorance. I don‘t celebrate any holidays. 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks I used to!! I slowly began to have a "distaste" for egg hunts at churches and trees in sanctuaries. Once our family delved into Torah, we decided these holidays were not something we should do. We observe the Feast days of the Father (as best we can knowing there is no Temple). 2y
Jenniebooks I wouldn‘t want to observe. Pagan holidays I‘ve heard Jesus‘s real birthday is in June . Do you think someday G-d will tell us where Ark of the covenant is? 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks I think Jesus was born near Passover or Tabernacles. All theory though. The Ark of the Covenant would be an earth shattering discovery. 2y
Jenniebooks Would you want to go to wailing wall in Jerusalem? 2y
Jenniebooks Do you think Jesus would have been great leader for Israel if he lived longer? 2y
BookDadGirlDad @Jenniebooks Depends on your view of Messiah. 2y
