Maximum Ride: The Final Warning
Maximum Ride: The Final Warning | James Patterson
Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge and Angel are six extraordinary avian hybrids. The result of a cruel Biotech experiment which manipulated their DNA and turned them into recombinant life forms with wings. This flock has endured a turbulent upbringing and they have been continually faced with evil. Evading capture on a daily basis, they have endured torture and been pushed to the very brink of sanity. Hunted all their lives, they've had to fight life-threatening and belief-defying battles pitting their strength against the fearsome force of their shadowy enemies. But as their predators evolved, their unique ability to fly is no longer enough to save them. With their genes mutating to astonishing affect, the flock establishes a new set of skills to unleash as they strive for survival. But just as they struggle to get to grips with these physical changes, emotionally they face new challenges too: life on the fringe of society can be a lonely existence. Driven to the wastelands of Antartica, each day brings a new threat for the flock. Danger is never far away and while fighting to save their own skin, they have a new mission to undertake - one with devastating global consequences...

I liked the message behind it

SolaRaynor I'm reading my first James Patterson book (Blindside) and really enjoying it! 2y
RavenclawPrincess913 @SolaRaynor what's that one about? 2y
SolaRaynor @RavenclawPrincess913 I don't want to give away too much! The mayor's daughter goes missing and Detective Michael Bennett is tasked with finding her. It's fast paced and a good read :) 2y

Don‘t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book a lot and I loved the message it gave. I really enjoyed that twist of saving the world. But I felt like there were a lot of loose ends that weren‘t tied up well. I‘m hoping that they‘ll make an appearance or be explained in the next book, but we shall see. But if you want to continue the series, I do recommend it. It‘s still a great and interesting read! Onto the next...

I didn‘t hate it, but maybe that‘s because I went in with low expectations. I loved the environmentalist message, but the way it was shown was a bit tacky. Also, I would really like an explanation as to who and what the Uber Director was and where he came from.

LibrarianRyan Right. To me it felt like a contractual book. One that had to be written on deadline and patterson just didn't want to do it. Book 5 gets back to standard for the series. 4y
catie_a_n Yeah, that‘s a good theory. And good to know. 4y

Although this series is really good, I‘m starting to lose interest. I‘m sure if I touched it out it would get better. There‘s always those slow parts in books. It‘s inevitable. This book was slightly confusing though.
