I was raised Catholic, post-Vatican II, on a college campus, in a guitar-mass kind of church. Theologically I am probably more a child of Jesus Christ Super Star (the original soundtrack) than of catechism. I hoped to learn something about the inscrutable Catholic doctrine of the trinity. I love the central notion that the motive force of all things is relational, but ultimately I neither get it, nor do I grasp it. Both may be required.

Another train ride to NYC for Pastor stuff. Figured I would take this along and it was such a good choice. My sermons for this week have come together now.

Definitely worth a read if this is your thing. One caveat: it's not truly one book; it's a collection of Rohr's talks pieced together to make a whole. So if it feels like it doesn't flow through some transitions well, that's why.
Still, worth the read if you want to contemplate such matters. Great for a church book club.

I admit to not fully following every theory he's sharing, but the parts I DO get I love! Bears some serious attention.

One of my favorite Christmas presents! "And God is not just a dancer; God is the dance itself."

Riveted_Reader_Melissa That's quite a review! 8y
Sweettartlaura @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I have to say, it is a great read. Not for everyone, because of the subject matter. But if you're interested in spirituality, Bono is proving to be quite right 😉 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa It sounds very good 8y
