Dene own voices' story of choosing the path of generosity and healing over violence and greed. I will never get tired of stories that take the harder, more hopeful path.

The story here is nice, but a little underdeveloped. What was there was interesting and had a happy ending, but it just... didn't do everything it needed to do? The art was nice. Everything was nice. Just underwhelming.

This is my year in review, but 2016 is not over and I've got an audiobook, a graphic novel, 2 YA and another fantasy that I'm still working on finishing before 2017! Both my longest and shortest book were in comic form. The most popular book I read was Miss Peregrine's, and the least popular was Delta Dogs, which only four people read on goodreads this year. The highest rated was Soulmated by Shaila Patel, which comes out next month.

I found this graphic novel on display in the YA section of my library. I read it while my youngest looked through the DVDs. It's a touching story of a Japanese man who visits the North West Territories to return his family's samurai suit of armor and sword to his home. Violence ensues, but he is helped by a Dene boy and his grandma. The author is a member of the Dogrib Nation.
