I really liked this book! I tend to read really heavy, old books (which I love!) and I was trying to branch out and read something a little lighter, but very creative and different. This is set in South Africa and Sally Andrew is a unique voice with a neat personality that shines through her writing. 🤗

I was a skeptic at first. Only because I not only love the books, but I love the 80s miniseries with Megan Follows. BUT, I have fallen in love with the Netflix series, Anne with an E. And the 3rd season is tearing me apart! Ah..... I feel that my spirit is truly kindred with that of L.M. Montgomery.

Next weekend I plan on organizing my shelves. I want to make an "on deck" shelf with all my books to-read! One I'm excited about is Figuring by Maria Popova. #bookshelf #getorganized2020

I have not yet had the capacity or focus to read all of House of Leaves. I was really excited to find this collection/excerpt of letters from House of Leaves, giving me the opportunity to ease my way into the greater novel. This collection is full of all the emotions and has completely captivated me! Would definitely recommend. But keep in mind, it's not a novella or short story, it's a collection of letters.

A modern take on Howard's End. If you've read Howard's End, you'll enjoy her nudges to the original. It's a bit tough (not big words, just intense at times) to read, as she touches on some heavy topics that multicultural families deal with in modern society. This isn't an adventure novel, nor does it have an intense climactic point, but it really keeps you engaged and surprises you with every turn of a chapter.
