I liked this book better then the first book. The pacing was better. We new the character and information on the school. I'm glad that I found out that there will be a book 3 after I finished reading this one.
I always know some what of what I'm getting myself into when I read a book from Shaun David Hutchinson. This book was wierd, quirky, but had a message which most of his books are all about. Dino family works in a funeral home and when Dino's ex bestfriend dies suddenly and then comes back to life. They go on a small journey to figure out why is she back along with why their friendship ended so badly.
I've enjoyed this read. About a teen who decides to follow the wrong crowd and starts to make wrong choices. Parents are fed up and dont know what else to do, so they send her to a wilderness camp to hopefully help get her act together. It was a fun fast funny read.
This book is hard to rate because I liked it but I didnt love it. Greek mythology is not my forte and doesnt make a lot of sense to me with all the names and gods and goddess I get confused easily. I easily bought this for the cover because it is beautiful but if it wasnt for the audiobook I dont think I would have got through it at all. I did like the story and found some parts entertaining but some of the parts kind of dragged.
Overall 3 1/2
This book makes you think what if???? I like the thought of this story and the what ifs. The main character was just okay. There was part of the story I could care less for. So many parts I wish I could have changed. The ending could have been a little bit better 🤷♀️ overall I liked the idea of the story and parts of the book. I would suggest giving it a try!
I loved this book. I am so glad that I didnt give up on this book at a time that I was just not in the mood to read this. I picked it back up a few months later and I just loved the whole story. The characters were unique and interesting. The way the story starts leaving you wondering until the very end.

I was left a little confuse after finishing this book. It left a lot of unanswered question but after reading and hearing other people thoughts I know why. This book did not wrap up anything that was going on to make you as the reader to pick up the 2nd book. I felt a little bored reading this book. Even though the pace was not so bad. I might pick up book 2 just to have some of questions answered.
This story dealt with all types of topics. Such as race, family, death, etc. This book started off with an introduction of a whole bunch of characters who did not have normal names but towards the middle and end it starts to make sense. If you pick this up make sure its during a time that you have time for this book. Should be read carefully and with an open mind for it deals with a lot of hard topics.
Deeply moving on a subject in the early 80's, we new nothing about and everyone was deathly afraid of getting. I enjoyed that the main Protagonist was a 14 year old female who is trying to deal with the passing of her uncle who died of AIDS. She develops a secret relationship with her uncle partner who the whole family believes her uncle got AIDS from and want nothing to do with him.
I loved this book. I loved the realnisst of it and the struggles of being a young single mother. I love the way the book was written . Elizabeth Acevedo is an amazing writer and her books are so poetic. Can't wait to read more from her. Oh and the audio book is amazing which is read by her!!!
Was going to rate this a 3 star until I got to the ending and it left me speechless. Did not see the ending coming and it made so much sense to me. I like this story because it was something different then what I have ever read about. It was about a Japanese American and German American girl whose family are sent to an internment Camp during WW2. It deals a lot with racism, friendship, family, etc.
I liked how this story dealt with real issues such as depression and racism. I loved the family dynamic and the culture. I liked hearing about Iran and learning somewhat how it is there. This book was a little slow go but overall the story will stick with me for a long time.
This was a quick read. There was some parts that made me laugh. I liked some of the characters but not all.I felt like there was no development to it. Everything happened quick and fast and really unrealistic to it. Leah was just a little annoying and so unsure about everything that was going on in her life. I could go on and on about this book but gave it
I highly enjoyed this. Not my typical read but had me entertained with its characters and the story line. Even though the main protagonist is Audrey Rose I loved the character of Thomas Cresswell. He was charming and so witty and made me laugh out loud several times. I kind of new the ending right away but this book was still enjoyable.

I loved it loved it loved it. It started off a little slow but when it took off man did it take off. Now that I know this is semi autobiographical that some things that Shirin went through a year after 9/11 also happened to Tahereh Mafi. That she wrote about some of her experiences and struggles. I loved the relationship between Sherin and her brother. Sherin and her mother and especially Sherin and Ocean. Great read Great Story!!!
This book is written in verse. The portagnast is a 12 year old girl from Syria who flees from her war torn country to America with her mother leaving behind her father and her brother. This book deals with the struggles and the heart ache of leaving everything you know behind and starting something knew and foreign in your life.
If I could give this a 100 stars I would. This book is written in verse and how it took the author 25 years to tell her story on when she was raped. It has so much emotion and sorrow and truth. How easily it could happen to anyone. A book that should be made mandatory to show how sexual assault can happen to anybody girl or boy.
I finished this book yesterday! It left me a little speechless because the ending I didnt see coming since I usually dont read these type of books. I have had this on my TBR for a while but since the book is suppose to take place on the same day over and over again that idea stopped me a little from starting it. It is more than that its reliving the same day over and over again trying to find answers to What Happened? Why is this happening?
Even though it says based on a true story I must have missed that when I started this book. I really enjoyed reading something that I never heard about but have been reading historic fiction and nonfiction for years.
This book is written in verse and it's about the White Rose group made up of German University Students who distributes pamphlets that speak out against Hitler's regime. The group were made up of 1 woman and the rest men.
I found this book to be just okay. It has been sitting on my shelf for years and now that it is a Netflix movie and wanted to read it before watching the movie. I enjoyed the letter concepts but at the same time i didn't find anything connection to the characters. It didnt make me feel any type of way. It was just bland. I like reading this book for the historic point of view. Hoping the movie is better.
I enjoyed hearing the audio version of this while reading along with my own physical book. It made it easier to get through the fight scenes since I have such a hard time picturing those and loved the narrator and his different voices for all. I did find some of this book dull but still love Cassandra Clare and can't wait to pick up the last book in this series and see how it ends!
This book was different just like a lot of things that Shaun David Hutchison writes. I went in this with an open mind because lately magic realism hasn't been my thing. I know Mr Hitchinson uses some in his books, but I enjoyed this some what. I liked the story line just had a hard time liking the main protagonist so much. She kind of got on my nerves. The ending was not satisfying enough for me either. Overall 3.5 ☆☆☆1\u002
This story broke my heart. To know that not too long ago you couldn't marry who you wanted and live with them and be recognized as husband and wife. This really hit me hard as I am in an interracial marriage and I couldn't imagine going through something like this and getting through it. I seen there was a movie about this and I wanted to read this short by enough to rip your heart out nonfiction book about The Lovings..
I want to say that I heard the audiobook but kind of wished that I would have read the physical copy better. I think I would have enjoyed it better since I heard they include pictures in there. I picked this up because i loved the one and only Ivan and Crenshaw. I loved the characters in this book and i enjoyed the story. I will probably continue with this series but in physical form.
I found the beginning so slow and boring. I actually put the book down for a while and decided to pick it back up later. I got to say the second half was a lot better and I was able to read it a lot faster. I did like the story and it's a little heart breaking and this story tears your heart apart. The characters were okay. Didnt really like one over the other. I gave this book a 3.5 ☆☆☆1\u002
I had to sit on this one and ponder it. I listened to the audiobook but really wish I had a physical copy so I could have reread some parts on my own.
I loved the idea of Mim(the main character) going on a road trip to get back to her mother who may or may not be dying and along the way self discovering herself.
Yes some parts of the book felt unrealistic (minus 1 point) but still loved the adventure and some of the characters.
So much to say and dont know how to say it. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook because it comes with a whole cast of characters that made the experience amazing. The story was crazy the ending left me in my thoughts. Trigger warnings for sexual assault, pedophilia, abuse, drugs.
I could never rate collen Hoover books any less than 5 ☆☆☆☆☆! They keep me engrossed and entertained and all her stories are so different. This one is differently different then her romance books. This was thrilling on the edge of what are we going to find our next. Even though some of the stuff was predictable I didn't care couldn't put it down.
Sat and ponder on this one for a bit and I came to the conclusion that I did not enjoy it as much as Caraval. I found this book a little boring and I didn't feel like the characters where as develop as the first book. I couldn't connect with any of them so I didn't really enjoy them. Overall I gave it 3 ☆☆☆
