Starting this one this week. A recommendation by a friend.

This is my first time reading Finkbeiner and I think this's one of the best books I've ever read by a modern author. The characters are so genuine and the real-life struggles were so relatable. The setting of small-town, Vietnam War era America was just entrancing to me. It's an absolutely beautiful literary work. This isn't one to rush through; it's one to savor. Tackles some interesting and controversial legal and moral questions but the characters were a little flat and there were some frankly, very cheesy moments which detracted from my enjoyment of the story.
