House of Echoes | Brendan Duffy

I think this was s debut novel for the author. Anyway, it was okay. I enjoyed his writing style, but the plot was a little slow for my taste. That being said, I‘m looking forward to reading his next book when it comes out.

The Right Time | Danielle Steel

I got to chapter 10 and realized this is not one of Steele‘s better works. So I DNF. I prefer Steele‘s suspense novels like Betrayal.

I‘m on chapter 8, and I‘m not feeling this book, but I hate to DNF books. Gah!

Update: So I decided to DNF this book for now. I just wasn‘t feeling it. I may pick it up again at a later time.

I loved this book. I loved the characters, the twists, the writing. It‘s just a great book and definitely worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio and followed along reading the ebook. The writing was solid and I found myself getting emotionally invested. It is kind of Lifetime Movie-ish, but I don‘t consider that a bad thing.

The Good Children | Kate Wilhelm

So this book is marketed as suspense and a mystery—it was neither. I checked this out from my local library after finding the book recommended to readers who were looking for books similar to Flowers in the Attic. I was that reader but this was not that book. I will say the writing was solid, it was the plot that left me dissatisfied.

I‘m not sure if I like this book or not. But I will say it disturbed me, and at times creeped me out. All that being said, I‘m not sure I would have finished it if I hadn‘t seen booktubers rave about it.

I‘m half way through and I‘m starting to get really creeped out. The first half of the book was hit or miss.

Amanda | Kay Hooper
Pickpick

I powered through this book in a day and it was better than “so-so”, so I‘m giving it a “pick” rating. It‘s a light mystery with some romance. I have to say, the ratio to mystery/romance is pretty well balanced. And I really liked Kay‘s writing style. Plus, I didn‘t figure out who the bad guy was until the end.

Guilt by Association | Marcia Clark
Mehso-so

So I DNF‘d this book with only four chapters left to finish. I know, I know! It was a chore and really wasn‘t interested at all who the bad guy was. This was the first legal thriller I‘d ever read, but it was really boring to me. And the way the protagonists is written kind of annoyed me. She comes across as a goody two shoes, know it all, who always crosses her T‘s and dots her I‘s. I felt like she needed a little more depth.

I read this book years ago and read it in one sitting. It was that good. That being said, the sex scenes made me wince because they sounded painful. I remember skipping through them to get back to the plot. All in all it was a good read.

It was alright. Mostly, is was meh and I wasn't feeling the romance between Michael and Laura. But it wasn't bad.
