Pickpick

The details unfold as the story flashes in alternating chapters between the past and the present, where I was happy to be privy to the aftereffects of an earlier life, sometimes before being told about the earlier years. I found both time periods equally compelling and equal in their importance towards the mean.

This is a heartwarming true story of Christmas in the second year of the Civil War. It included individual events, private letters, and one pivotal story that reminded me that people really can come together, even in the worst and most unlikely times, if they choose to.

This is a whopper that I would love to finally fit in by the end of the year.
