King is my favorite author in terms of consistency and he is responsible for my favorite series, The Dark Tower. This book was filled with many of those things that I love so much about King‘s writing- remarkably deep character development, his ability to make me care about the characters, the horror and vividness of the imagery. My only issue is that the story felt short somehow and the ending didn‘t feel as complete as I had hoped it would.
Evelyn: Celia, you‘re GORGEOUS. Wow you look the same as you did 20 years ago.
Everyone: Evelyn, everyone wants to look like you. You‘re GORGEOUS.
Evelyn: I am so GORGEOUS everyone wants to see my chest. But being gorgeous isn‘t that great even though it‘s given me riches and all my dreams have come true (except for the poorly constructed conflict between Celia and Evelyn).
This book started off great but became tedious and repetitive.
