Honestly a pretty disappointing read. I can understand how difficult it must have been to write - delving into past trauma is never easy - but as a middle grade book, it was clunky, unconvincing and honestly not something I would recommend for young readers. Your parents are hitting you? Be the bigger person, it'll get better. Not a great narrative, and not great for kids navigating tough situations, either. I'm not sure who this book is for.
