Into the Wild | Jon Krakauer

“I think maybe part of what got him into trouble was that he did too much thinking. Sometimes he tried too hard to make sense of the world, to figure out why people were bad to each other often. A couple of times I tried to tell him it was a mistake to get too deep into that kind of stuff, but Alex got stuck on things. He always had to know the absolute right answer before he could go on to the next thing.”

Into Thin Air | Jon Krakauer
Pickpick

This was so compelling and I couldn‘t put it down. The author‘s recollection of events leaves room for the reader to explore their own morality under grave circumstances.

Firestarter | Stephen King

This was my first Stephen King. I honestly thought it was long and found myself zoning out a lot during the long bits without dialogue. I certainly admire King‘s writing and his characterizations but I found the ending to only be half satisfying. Regardless, I‘m glad I gave something new a try and can say I‘ve read at least one Stephen King.

#GIRLBOSS | Sophia Amoruso

This was a quick and easy read, but I didn‘t find any of the information valuable. I pressed to finish it because I was too far in to not see it through, but I found the author to be redundant and self obsessed.

I love this author! This story balanced comedy with sincerity which is something she does well. This book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions as racism is a prevalent theme as well as love and forgiveness.

The Secret | Rhonda Byrne
Pickpick

Would consider this a must read. It‘s easy to get set in your beliefs and ways whatever those may be, and while it‘s great to be firm in what you stand for and abide by, it‘s a worthwhile process to challenge those and expand your mind every once in a while. This did that for me.

Magic Hour: A Novel | Kristin Hannah
Mehso-so

Enjoyed this read. I did feel like some characters and scenes felt “thrown in” but the storyline was good and the ending was satisfying enough.
