My boys read this together recently and loved it. Now, they're insisting I read it too. I have to admit it's pretty good!

Audio books are getting me through this move! Packing is not fun and I'm having a very hard time staying on track. The Aurora Teagarden series is proving to be perfect keeping my mind just busy enough so I don't keep getting sidetracked, but still focus on what I need to get done. #audiobooksforthewin
Finally got around to reading Evil Thing (Books 7 of the #villiansseries ). Cruella has never really been a villain that's interested me much so it took me awhile to get around to reading this. I was actually very surprised by how much I like this book. It wasn't my favorite of the series, but I think Valentino did a really good job of coming up with an interesting backstory for Cruella De Vil. 3⭐, better than expected!
Getting back to Prythian has definitely been the #bookishescape I needed. I wasn't sure if I would like this book because Nesta has not been my favorite character, but I've been pleasantly surprised by this book. So far, I'm into it! #currentlyreading
It has been a VERY long time since I've been on here! It's been a crazy few months since we decided to build on my family's property. Over the last 3 months we've been focused on designing a new house, selling our current house, and moving into a rental. Meanwhile, what's the thing that's giving me the most stress in the moving process??? How am I getting these safely from place to place and how am I going to store them all?! #bookhoarderproblems
Happy #WorldUFODay 🛸👽 It's a big day in our house! We'll do lots of UFO/alien/space themed activities and tonight we'll watch the skies on a good old fashioned #ufohunt 🔭 Does anyone else celebrate the day???
Feeling a little sad today because we should be enjoying our 3rd day in Scotland. Unfortunately a pandemic got into the way of that... ☹️ We can reschedule the trip for next year, so fingers are crossed that we can make everything work and be there this time next year! Since I can't actually be in Scotland, I'm going to get in some Scottish reading and cooking today.
#outlandercookbook #scottishcooking #scottishfolktales
I have been terrible about posting this month! I'm also waaayyy behind where I expected to be for #makeyourmythtaker and #ogreadathon at this point. Here is here I am with my TBR so far.
MIDDLE: Currently reading
BOTTOM: Still to be read
Here's hoping I can have some major reading marathons over the next 9 days so I can get all caught up! #teamartemis
Happy Mother's Day! We're just having a lazy Sunday, playing games and reading. My sweet guys got this beautiful Hedwig to go with the Crookshanks that they got me for Christmas. Feeling like a very lucky mom today. I hope everyone else is enjoying their Mother's day and feeling lots of love! #happymothersday
Given my current energy level this mug seemed appropriate 😂😴😴 Having trouble focusing or even keeping my eyes open, so I'm opting for some audiobooks today. I just had THREE holds become available from the library. Why is that no matter how long they say the wait will be, my holds always all become available at the same time???😂 #currentlylistening to War Storm. Next, I'll move on to The Turn of the Key and then Blood of Elves. #audiobooks
Happy Star Wars day! How is everyone celebrating? Is anyone reading any Star Wars books today? Watching a Star Wars marathon?
It's also my husband's birthday today. We can't go anywhere, but the kids and I will do our best to throw him a little birthday party.
New month, new readathons. We (myself and my two sons) all successfully finished our OWLs for #magicalreadathon2020 🦉📚⚡ Now we're getting our TBRs in order for the May readathons we're doing. This is my *almost* complete TBR for the #medievalathon 👸🤴 I'll also be reading Aurora Burning which will be released this month. This TBR also includes the books we'll be reading for the #believeathon
Are you doing any readathons this month? Which ones?
Finishing up my #owlsreadathon2020 book for potions. I have really enjoyed this book. I'm actually not a huge Dracula fan so I wasn't really sure how I'd feel about Carmilla... I really like it! It's very short, so it doesn't drag like I feel Dracula does at times. And Carmilla is definitely a better vampire, IMO
Last day of #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 Potion Brewing 101, favorite beverage to drink while reading. Coffee, tea, beer, a cocktail, I enjoy any of these while reading a book. BUT there's nothing better than sitting down w/ a good book and a glass of wine at the end of the day. So wine is definitely my favorite beverage when reading. #magicalreadathon2020 #OWLsReadathon2020
Day 6 of #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 Your favorite bookish map. I love #bookishmaps 📚 🗺️ I will buy a book just because it has a beautiful map! I have a decent collection of book maps, but the one that's my prized possession is my spell map from Universal Studios. *BTE, anyone else participating in the impromptu #magicalallnighter today? I'm reading The Breakdown and finishing up Circe! What're you reading?** #magicalreadathon2020 #owlsreadathon2020
Day 5 of #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 Book that Transformed my Life. It may be the easy answer during an HP readathon, but HP has changed my life in a lot of ways. I was growing up while the books were coming out, but I first read the whole series as an adult. Through these books I've discovered the #bookishcommunity that's become such a big part of my life. This fandom has also been something I've been able to bond over with my boys! #magicalreadathon
It's day 4 of #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 🦉⚡📚📸 Today's prompt is Taming a Fantastic Beast, biggest book on your Magical TBR. The longest book I'll be reading for the #owlsreadathon2020 isn't even on my TBR, it's on my son's. We'll be reading Inkheart for his Ancient Runes exam. #magicalreadathon2020 #magicaltbr #crookshanks
Happy day 3 of #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 🦉⚡📚📸 Today's prompt is Time Turner, book you'd love to read for the first time again. Aside from the entire HP series there are three favorites that I would love to be able experience for the first time again, the whole Narnia series, The Lord of the Rings, and A Court of Mist and Fury. What book would you love to be able to read for the first time again?
Day 2 of the #owlsreadathonsnaps2020 was Practicing Divination with Tea Leaves. I don't have to take my divination exams for these OWLs, but I'll be reading Percy Jackson with my son for his divination exam. Confession time... I have never read any of the Percy Jackson books! So I am really looking forward to reading it with my kids. #magicalreadathon2020 #owlsreadathon2020
Catching up on #owlsreadathon2020 🦉⚡📚 Day 1 of the challenge is Currently Studying (currently reading) My current read is Circe, which I'm reading for my History of Magic exam. I'm also reading The Midnight Hour with my two boys, which will complete Herbology for one of them and Astronomy for the other. 🛁📚🍷
#currentlystudying #currentlyreading #magicalreadathon2020
My boys and I had such a great time during the #magicalallnighter ⚡📚 We were able to finish 2 and 1/2 book from their OWLs and I even managed to find time to get through a good chunk of my current read, Circe, as well. Looking forward to the rest of the #magicalreadathon2020
The OWLs started a few days ago. Who else is participating???
Our career choices are:
Me🐍: Care of Magical Children
Oldest son 🦁: Spell Maker w/ Dragon Tamer (completed magizoologist last year)
Youngest son 🦅: Auror w/ Animagus training *What career did everyone else choose?*
I know the cool thing to do seems to be hating on SJM, but I make no apologies for my love of her books! What happened to just reading what you love and not caring what anyone thinks? I'm just tired of all the reading judgment in general these days. Don't like a certain author/genre, don't read them, then mind your own damn business. I for one will continue to buy SJM's books!
I'm finished with my first book and almost done with my second for #audiobookathon 🎧 I'll also finish one book each for #hypeathonreadathon and #WHMreadathon with these two books! I am also #currentlyreading House of Earth and Blood so this will probably check off a prompt for a #readathon or two. #witchathon starts tomorrow so I'll have to get my books for that one together next!
I finally made my TBR for March! Most likely it's overly ambitious, but I'm doing FIVE readathons this month so that should help me get through this massive reading list! *ebooks and audiobooks aren't pictured* Anyone else participating in any of these #readathons ??
#hypeathonreadathon #WHMreadathon #audiobookathon #witchathon #zodiacathon
It's here and it's a beast! I need to hurry up and finish what I'm reading tonight so I can start this one tomorrow 😁 Who has started (or finished) it already??
I finally got around to reading Baby Teeth. I really enjoyed it, but it was so disturbing! I'm not sure whose side I'm on after finishing that... Probably no one's. 🤷😂 I'm definitely in the mood for more psychological thrillers like this if anyone has any recommendations??? #bookrecommendations #psychologicalthrillers
I just started The Blackhouse by Peter May and I'm already hooked! This is the first book I'm reading from my Scottish Reading List to get me ready for my trip to Scotland this summer. I couldn't have started with a better book! *Who else reads books to get themselves excited for their vacations?* I have about 20 books on my Scottish reading list. Let's see if I can get them all finished by June! #scotland #scottishauthors #scottishliterature
Trying to get through these last two books before the end of the month. I upped my #goodreadschallenge2020 to 100 books which is ambitious for me, but if I can get through these I'll be right on track to start out the year. (We'll see how that goes over the coming months 🤷♀️) What is everyone else's Goodreads challenge goal?? We're only a month in, but what has been your #favoritebookof2020 so far??
I recently finished this beautiful book!! I loved it, I really did, but it fell just short of living up to the hype for me. With that said though I still have it ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and let's not pretend I didn't already pre-order book 2 (Blood & Honey)! What's everyone #currentlyreading ? What has been your favorite book so far this year?
It's been so long since I've posted! My boys and I are doing the #wintermagicalreadathon so hopefully I'll be a little more active while I post updates throughout the month for that. #currentlyreading A Christmas Carol and Wundersmith with my boys and Winterwood on my own. We're working on our wk 1 prompts, Book Published Before You Were Born & Most Recently Acquired Book
#itsbeginningtolookalotlikechristmas #christmascountdown #christmasreading
I am so ashamed of myself for just now getting around to my first post of October!! This is my favorite month of the year and I've seriously failed to show it the proper respect so far.🤦 Alright, I promise to do better from now on 😂
Just featuring some of my horror shelves today! #sundayshelfie #shelfie #horrornovels
I'll get my #octobertbr posted very soon. #scarybooks #octoberisforhorror
The boys and I finished our NEWTs and we look forward to our future magical careers! Through the month of August my boys and I participated in the #newtsreadathon2019 and I am so proud of my kiddos for all of the reading they have done over the month (and over this past summer as a whole)!!! The #magicalreadathon2019 is always so much fun to take part in and a great chance to bond with my little guys ❤️💙💚💛
It's that time again, the weekly #bfc check in! I've been tracking workouts manually ever since my fitness tracker broke, but that may have been a blessing in disguise. Having to manually track each workout means I can't rely on those "filler" steps that get tracked every day. So I managed to meet my goal of 15 miles this wk, mostly on the elliptical. Also made a nice dent in my book goal by completing 4 books this wk!
