Now reading this novella! I‘m so in love with the cover!! 😍🔮 Found out about this book by following the author‘s tumblr and when I read the summary I had to get it. Right smack dab in the center of my wheelhouse!

Despite all the so-so reviews I actually really enjoyed this book! Super creepy horror that is based on an interesting concept. What happens when modern day technology and culture meet a small town with a three-hundred year old cursed witch?

I was disappointed with the ending though... for that I‘m giving it 3.5/5⭐️

Trigger warning for abuse, specifically child abuse, and some pretty disturbing imagery.

StephBengtson I also loved it! 3mo
sprainedbrain I loved it too! So creepy. 3mo
IndyHannaJones I loved it...until that end. Ughhhh. Also, we listened to it on audible and I loathed how the narrator did female voices. 3mo
BookishJess @IndyHannaJones Ohhh that must be why a lot of the reviews complained about how the female characters were represented? I didn‘t get that feeling from reading it. But yeah the end...what was that?? I really want to know what the Dutch ending was like! The author changed it for the English version. 3mo
IndyHannaJones @BookishJess did he now? Well, the narrator made the female voices sooo nasally. 3mo

Next up! I‘ve had this book since I got my first Kindle and I‘m finally starting to read it now 🤷‍♀️

If you‘ve read it, what did you think? I can‘t help picturing the main character as James Franco because of the TV show 😉

Gayan As a lifelong King fanatic I will tell you that it is right up there with ‘Salem‘s Lot, IT, and The Stand for me. I‘ve read it 6 times. 4mo

Reggie I love this book. Honestly if there weren‘t snow monsters, I still would have wanted to know to know what was going to happen between the characters. Would he have stayed with the pregnant girl, would he have stayed with the sister? There was a lot of drama. Lol 6mo

'Salem's Lot | Stephen King
post image

Sooo I was reading Mansfield Park - which I was enjoying! - but just wasn‘t really in the mood for it. Been craving a horror novel lately so a novel by the King seems to be the ticket..

Reggie Omg, this is my favorite of his!!! Hope it scares you!!! 10mo
BookishJess @Reggie Now I‘m excited! I haven‘t seen too much love for Salem‘s Lot so I wasn‘t sure if it‘s one of his lesser loved books. I love SK and I like a good vampire story so I think this should keep my attention. And hoping for a good scare! 10mo
Reggie So, in my early 20‘s, I had just dropped out of college and moved into my 1st apartment on the 2nd floor with nothing but a futon mattress to my name. I used to work graveyards get off at 3 and read on my mattress against the wall in the living room. One night while I was reading Salem‘s Lot someone at 3a.m in the morning crept on the walkway up to my door and ever so slowly tried to turn the knob to my door. I nearly crapped myself. They left 10mo
Reggie But Salem‘s Lot was still there. I‘ve told this story twice on here but it was time for another retelling. Also, those vampires in there were really evil. 10mo

Probably could have been better with some more editing. But I still enjoyed it, even though it took me forever to read, and I learned A LOT. Wow. I didn‘t know barely anything about Luther or the Protestant Reformation before reading this book. The book is a biography of Luther‘s life — not the Reformation — so it ends when Luther dies. Would be interested to learn about the Reformation after his death.
