Sorry to be a hater but these books are terrible. I don't believe in always moralizing to children but these kids are assholes and like...the story isn't even fun. Very bummed that my five year old niece is in love with the series and I will continue reading them until I go home next week. Luckily, she still wants to read picture books with me too.

Sidenote: my sister's three kids love rats so princesses and rats it always is. 🐀

Today‘s scores! I hate being home when my excellent cleaner is in the house so today I ran some errands, got a large chai latte and walked up the steep street to the little free library. Always hard after a holiday! Just having some lunch then off to the beach to read for an hour or so. Times like these I am glad I am a school teacher!

Trixie and I have worked our way through books 1-7 in the past couple of weeks. We made it through three one morning during the week when she was ill! Trixie loves them of course - she always appreciates a slightly naughty protagonist.

I've probably read the first half of this book to the girls at least three times. We would always either get interrupted or they would get bored. I finally read the rest of it this weekend. It was cute, but I did find that the main characters were pretty mean to the other kids in the book.
