This book was really god at explaining homelessness from a child's perspective. However, that means that it didnt really dive into the seriousness of homelessness. It was nice for me, but my little brother (who I read this with) still does not grasp how serious it all was.
First book of 2020!!

If you want your mind to be blown ! This is the book , I couldn't put it down , have you ever thought of who decided that the color blue was blue and decided to call it blue ? Well this book makes you think of stuff like that and the descriptions of imaginary characters is just amazing, like who though of this ? Clearly Matthew Green did ! Would recommend this book to anyone looking for a "change of scenery". I really enjoyed the storyline.

I would use this book in my class because the images are engaging and children would love the humor in it.

This Caldecott winner had good illustrations throughout the entire book. The detail in the pictures really helps to extend the text and they also have vibrant colors to draw in the reader's attention.

This book was one of my favorite award winners because of the very reason it won an award. This book was a Caldecott Honor Book and is well beyond deserving because the images were incredible and truly brought the text to life.

I would use this in my future classroom because the idea is beyond what children normally think of, but something that they can relate to as they may have had an imaginary friend. Also, the images are stunning and would definitely keep them engaged.
