so-soAlthough Dawn French is fabulous and there are some magical moments in this book, the structure of it didn‘t work for me. It‘s set out as a series of letters to different people in her life. In some of them she recounts her experiences and funny incidents and those are great - but in others she just tells her friends how much she loves them or writes satirical letters to famous people that were only vaguely funny ⬇️
Centique When she does talk about her life it is fascinating and sometimes very emotional. I get the feeling she structured it in the way she did to either add “filler” or to avoid getting deeper into difficult times in her life - which is fair enough. Just meant quite a few boring bits amongst the good bits for me. If you‘re a fan it‘s still worth it! 4y
