Dallas Winston really is just a scared boy, isn't he? Absolutely terrified, even after all of his years on the streets in New York. He clearly cares about Johnny; I know everyone treats Johnny as the kid brother of the gang but Dally gets very worked up over Johnny's well being throughout the book. He is the one who rides to the hospital with him, & Johnny's passing did lead to Dally's in a somewhat indirect manor. #theoutsiders #dallaswinston
