@TheKidUpstairs @MPick @drokka So rumour has it that we are a book club! Super excited, ladies! Do you want to share titles or keep secrets? We need a name!!! Any suggestions?

GatheringBooks i love it when a book club is just about to form! :) 6y
MPick I‘m so excited! This is my first book club on Litsy ☺️. I think we should keep things secret - surprise is so much more fun! 6y
BookishTrish @MPick Honoured to be part of your first Litsy book club experience. What do you like/loathe to read? Any recent favourites to share? 6y

MPick @BookishTrish I‘m not into anything sci-fi, fantasy or anything space related but I‘m always open to trying new things! My last good read was The Road by Cormac McCarthy which was way out of my normal genre but I really liked it! I‘m also not opposed to having people write notes directly in my books but will definitely be sending a cute notebook for any extra room! (edited) 6y
drokka I‘m really excited about this too. Any thoughts on a group name? Also, any thoughts on a theme? I‘ve got a book picked out but if it doesn‘t suit a theme (if we go that route) I‘ll find one on my shelves that does 😁 @MPick @TheKidUpstairs (edited) 6y
BookishTrish @drokka @MPick @TheKidUpstairs Do you want to go with a theme or no theme? I have four titles that I'm thinking of choosing. What's the best way to check you all haven't read them recently? 6y
drokka Oh, I really like that #SteepedinStories one! The #ReadsTeaLeaves is good too. I think there was only one person who ended up with a re-read in our #PoutineAndPaperbacks group. I view this as a way of finding out what and why other people read a certain book. Why they liked or disliked it. So I‘m not worried if I end up with a reread. Also, I can go with either, theme or no theme. I think if we do go with a theme we‘d have to make we don‘t all (edited) 6y
drokka pick the same book though. 😂@TheKidUpstairs @MPick 6y
BookishTrish Maybe no theme would be easier this time around? We could post the publication date of our novels (or something similar) to check we haven't picked the same one? @drokka @mpick @TheKidUpstairs 6y

TheKidUpstairs Sorry, my notifications weren't working! I like the idea of keeping titles secret, and I'm not worried about re reading. Love the idea of #steepedinstories! And I think no theme is good, keeps things varied and interesting! @drokka @MPick 6y
TheKidUpstairs I like the idea of posting pub. date to check for duplicates. Maybe broad genre, too? The one I'm thinking of using is a mystery published in 1998. 6y
BookishTrish @MPick @drokka @TheKidUpstairs Do we want to set a page limit? 6y
drokka The one I‘m thinking of is an historical fiction, originally published in 2016, with 299 pages. 6y
MPick I think 300 pages is a nice cap. Not too long but can be shorter if we prefer. #steepedinstories is SO cute! 😍 I‘m in agreement with all of the above and can‘t wait to find the perfect one! (edited) 6y
BookishTrish I have chosen a mystery published in 2016 with under 300 pages. 6y
TheKidUpstairs @drokka @MPick I don't have my book with me right now, but it looks like it's around 250 pages (depending on the edition). Again, it's a mystery from 1998. 6y
BookishTrish @TheKidUpstairs I‘m super curious about yours! 6y
drokka Okay, so I‘ve changed my pick. I wasn‘t feeling my original pick, so I‘m swapping it for one of my favourite books. It‘s a contemporary piece from 2012. It‘s 338 pages, but it‘s got huge font; almost large print size, double spaced. @MPick @TheKidUpstairs (edited) 6y
BookishTrish @drokka I‘m good with that. I‘m actually pretty flexible up to about 450p 6y
BookishTrish @drokka Will you reveal the one that got away? 6y
drokka The one that got away was 6y
