SantaThing Entry #413

Who Receives?

LibraryThing user timspalding

Secret Santa

LibraryThing user timspalding's Secret Santa was LibraryThing user KeithChaffee!

Recipient's book tastes

This year, let's do short stories. Things I'd love:

1. A manageable book of great science fiction stories

2. A manageable book of great fantasy stories

Don't get me a single author. I have, for instance, all of Philip K. Dick's stories and Chiang. The main criterion is that they should be good, and good absolutely requires that the writing be good. The collection can have a theme—AI, for example. But it shouldn't involve a single shared world (e.g., Lovecraft), or be super-obscure. Ideally, it should have pieces from different decades, but that's not an absolute requirement. I certainly don't think that a collection is only good if it's mostly stuff published in the last three years. I'm sure you'll find some good things—thanks!
