Recipient's book tastes

I read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy but I'm increasingly interested in works in those genres by authors from non-English speaking countries (in translation). I read a lot of US and New Zealand history and also a lot of biography and autobiography. Books about science and technology, and astronomy in particular, also make guest appearances on my reading list.

Do not get

I already have a lot of New York Times and Washington Post recommendations. Not interested in self-help, crime fiction, or bestsellers.
